In 2014 the Cook-Off became a KCBS Sanctioned contest, that means that the results of the contest counted towards the worldwide ranking, KCBS Team of the Year, the draw for the Jack Daniels World Championship in Lynchburg, TN and the American Royal.
Also did the results count towards the Dutch Low and Slow Barbecue title.
In 2015 and 2016 the Cook-Off was the 3rd largest European competition with 42 and 46 teams from all over the world. We added a free style dessert category to the contest and we added the Beef & Steak SCA Steak Cook-Off on Saturday. The Steak Cook-Off is separate from the KCBS contest and here teams can show how well they can grill a ribeye steak.
For 2017 we will keep the BBQ Society Cook-Off the same. On Saturday there will be the Beef & Steak SCA Cook-Off and on Sunday the KCBS contest with dessert as an ancillary category. There will be space for 48 teams, so register early to secure your spot in the contest!
The BBQ Society Cook-Off is an American style barbecue contest. The teams will compete in four categories, chicken, ribs, pork shoulder and brisket. There is a winner in every category and the team with the best overall score will be the Grand Champion.
