Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October Hoofddorp will be the BBQ capital of Europe!
That weekend the fifth edition of the BBQ Society Cook-Off will take place. On Saturday 48 teams from all over the world will set up camp in the Haarlemmermeerse Bos -the woods near Hoofddorp- and will start prepping their meats for the low and slow barbecue contest on Sunday.
On Saturday there is also the Beef & Steak SCA Steak Cook-Off where the teams will battle it out who can grill the best ribeye steak.
Starting at noon on Sunday the public is able to taste all the meaty goodness that comes off the barbecues and out off the smokers. All this for free!
The BBQ Society Cook-Off is an American style barbecue competition. The teams will compete in four categories: chicken, pork ribs, pork shoulder and beef brisket. The team with the highest grand total will be crowned Grand Champion.
There will also be an extra category, desserts. So if you have a sweet tooth we’ve got you covered with nice creations coming off the barbecues!
