Zaterdag 7 en zondag 8 oktober is Hoofddorp weer even het BBQ centrum van Nederland!
Dan vindt namelijk voor de vijfde keer de BBQ Society Cook-Off plaats. Zaterdag slaan topteams uit binnen- en buitenland hun tenten op in het Haarlemmermeerse Bos en beginnen met de voorbereidingen voor de low & slow barbecuewedstrijd van zondag.
Op zaterdag is er een Steak Cook-Off waar de deelnemers kunnen laten zien wie de beste ribeye steak grilt.
Op zondag vanaf 12 uur kunnen de bezoekers gratis proeven van al het lekkers dat van de barbecues en uit de smokers komt.
De BBQ Society Cook-Off is een barbecuewedstrijd Amerikaanse stijl. Er wordt in vier categorieën -kip, ribs, varkensschouder (pulled pork) en brisket- gestreden om de beste plek en het team met het hoogste gemiddelde wordt de Grand Champion.
Buiten de vleescategorieën is er ook een dessertcategorie waar de teams helemaal vrij zijn in wat ze maken en hoe ze dat presenteren. De mooiste creaties komen voorbij en ook daar is van te proeven.
